Journey Kids—Courage—Week 3

Anyone know Phil Kaufman? Did you know he is VERY scared of big, ferocious, scary dogs? Like this one who joined us at Journey Kids on Sunday…

Courage—by now we know it’s being brave enough to do what you should do, even when you’re afraid. Well good ‘ole Phil? We got him away from Brinks and he was fine, never fear. But Moses and the Israelites were literally running from their lives from Pharaoh and the Egyptians. Can you even imagine?

With a cloud and torch of fire to guide and protect them, they ran.

And as we said, scary Pharoah was right behind them in their heels…

And what was in front of them but a wall of water called the Red Sea. Now if that didn’t seem impossible, I don’t know what does. Being brave even when things seem impossible with an army behind them and impassable water in front of them.

But God was there and faithful to Moses. And He did the impossible and parted the sea. And now there was dry land for the Israelites.

What seems impossible in your life right now? Where is fear creeping in and stopping you right in your tracks with an obstacle behind you and an obstacle in front of you? And maybe you’ve already experienced God parting the seas for you and you have been able to walk right in through on dry land to the promised land…

“Even when I’m afraid, I will trust in you” Psalm 56:3.
