What does 10 years seem like to you? Does it fly by and you don’t know where in the world the time has gone? Or are you in the middle of raising Littles and can’t imagine what life will be like in 10 years as it feels like an eternity? Does 10 years put you in a different stage of life than where you are now? Perhaps you’ll be married and beginning a family? Or maybe your kids will begin getting married and starting a family? Will you be a grandparent or great-grandparent?!!?
Today, Steve and I snuck away for a mini date this afternoon. Now before ya’ll get too jealous, it was a date out to the chicken barn a few miles away to load up some wood for the fireplace these next few frigid days. We did grab some fresh brewed coffee and a third wheel (that fluff of fur you see there in the pic).
My reality set in when I realized we have only 10 more years of running around with active kids. 10 years!!! That used to feel like such a long time. And it sure does NOT anymore. I know it’s the curse of getting older. It’s a stage of life we are in the middle of. And I don’t want to miss a thing.
We are in a busy time of life. There’s no getting around it. And honestly, there is no place I’d rather be.
Even if that means our dates are few and far between—and sometimes out to a chicken barn, with some darn good coffee, I might add.
