1.) Just when I needed it most, wouldn’t you know a devotion with my Mary & Martha team and life verse. A gift this week for sure.

20150129-225714-82634923.jpg

2.) A freshly coifed pooch. However, she misbehaves during grooming. I am seriously embarassed each and every time I pick her up.

Think of a dog “screaming”…

3.) We have started ordering from Walmart online with a doorstep delivery. It seriously rocks. All of those necessities? Delivered to your door and no chance to buy something you really don’t need.

20150129-225954-82794017.jpg

4.) The prayer wall on display at the Mary & Martha home office. These are dreams each of us have that the home office staff prays for on a wall to see each time someone passes through. That is awesome.

5.) My girls do NOT like to be told they look like either Steve or I. I think it is quite funny when I receive texts like these. Ha!!

6.) Not sure this could describe me any better.

Natalie’s reaction to my dropping my brand new Melamine plate on our hard tile in the laundry room. Classic, I tell you!!

Pieces of the collection arrived yesterday and I was more than a bit giddy. Maybe not as giddy as Landon using it for the first time at breakfast yesterday…(the pancakes helped!)

You have two opportunities in the next week to see for yourself!!

Some of you may be wondering about the business and ministry. We were given the charge that if you are all about ministry—this would not be the business for you. And if you are all about business, this might not be the business for you. HOWEVER, if you are about combining business and ministry—this is the perfect business for you!!!! I loved this.

20150127-064203-24123549.jpg

I am devoting my February days to talking and meeting with all who would like to hear about this business and ministry. It’s been so fun to connect with those who have been contemplating and I’ll be taking baskets of the new product to each meeting I have. I am so, so excited about this. If you would like a “sponsoring chat” with me about this business and ministry—don’t hesitate to connect with me and let’s chat…

so much more than product.

Not sure I can fully extend to you what Mary & Martha means to me. And Ithink it took me a bit to figure it out myself.

But what I didn’t know, was how much I loved hospitality. How much I needed to find a way to share Jesus in my home and others. I didn’t know because that simply was not an easy thing for me to do. Until now…

Add to that these relationships, the conferences, the incentive trips—and wow, what a sweet, sweet blessing I didn’t even know I was missing in my life.

2.). Two years. It’s been two years since our “Journey” began. Unreal.

3.). Have you been here? I have. With many, many things in my life. And this just spoke to me…

4.) You probably know by now how much I love conferences. I seriously love them. I get to dress in normal people clothes–no scrubs or yoga pants. Eat food I didn’t prepare. Forget about laundry, clean floors and bathrooms. Let someone else make the bed!! And at Mary & Martha conferences in particular, surround myself in the like-minded ness of loving God and loving others. It’s a motivational and spiritual and worshipful experience all rolled into one.

20150123-053321-20001710.jpg

5.) From early on my goal in Mary & Martha was to become a leader and qualify for the leadership conference. And I have been blessed to be attending my 2nd one. But more then that, I got to bring two of my team members as leaders this year. So, so very sweet…

am I willing?

20150121-074039-27639711.jpgBabies coming into this world kept me away from Sunday morning worship with my family this past week.  But, pictures speak a thousand words, as you know.

I am willing.

I am not sure what the message was.  Between sickness and schedules and overall craziness over here, we have not had the opportunity to really talk.  Can you believe it?

20150121-074055-27655187.jpgBut I can tell you my take away in looking at these pictures and this charge given.

The question begs to ask…am I willing to love my neighbor?  Am I willing to love my enemy?  Am I willing to share with others the gift of Jesus in my life?  Am I willing to live my life in a way that makes Jesus known to all the world?  Am I willing to help those in need?  Am I willing to stand up for what is right?  Am I willing to be persecuted for what I believe to be true?  Am I willing to live differently?

Am I willing?

words to live by…

Standard

You remember, I don’t like being convicted, right?  Sometimes God places people, books, words, circumstances in your life to further reiterate something He really wants you to know.  And wow, have I seen that ever so clearly this past couple of weeks as we are developing relationships with others.  AND, this SEVEN book had a quote that just got me.

loveyourneighbor

“The first question which the priest and the Levite asked was:  If I stop to help this man, what will happen to me?”

But the good Samaritan reversed the question:  “If I do not stop to help this man, what will happen to him?”

BEST Homemade Scones EVah!!!!

Standard

20150116-083921-31161343.jpg

I did a HUGE email inbox clean out the other day, and came across this recipe from a friend of mine and decided right then and there, we would try them out.  I have eaten them many times before so I knew they were good.  But what I didn’t know was how EASY they are!!

SCONES

2 Cups Flour

3 TBSP. Sugar

3 TSP. Baking Powder

1/2 TSP. salt

Mix together.  Then add non-liquid ingredients below depending on the kind you choose to make.

Chocolate Almond Scones

1/2 Cup White Vanilla Baking Chips

1/2 Cup Semi-sweet Chocolate Chips

1 and 1/3 Cup Heaving Whipping Cream

1/4 TSP. Almond Extract

Icing:

1 cup Powdered Sugar

1/4 TSP. Almond extract

2-3 TBSP milk or water

Cranberry Almond Scones

2 TSP Grated Orange Peel

1/2 Cup White Baking Chips

1/2 Cup Dried Cranberries, chopped

1/2 Cup chopped pecans

1 and 1/3 Cup Heavy Whipping Cream

Icing:

1 Cup Powdered sugar

2-3 TBSP Orange Juice

Directions

Heat oven to 400 degrees.  Lightly grease cookie sheet.  Add whipping cream and extract to dry ingredients–stir just until dry ingredients are moistened.  On a lightly floured surface, knead dough 6-7 times until it pulls together.  Divide dough in 3 parts.  Pat each into a 6 inch disc; cut each into 6 triangles.  Place two inches apart on cookie sheet.  Bake 10-13 minutes or until light golden brown.  Cool 5 minutes.  Mix icing ingredients to a nice drizzling consistency and drizzle over scones.  For almond scones, top with sliced almonds if desired.

THESE ARE A WINNER!!!

We have since been making scones almost daily.  The combinations are endless!  We did dried blueberries, chocolate peanut butter, and the list is full of possibilities.  Let me know what combos you try!  Warning:  these do not keep.  (as in, every one eats them up!)

20150116-083758-31078962.jpg1.) THIS WEATHER!!!  Let’s start with the obvious…this weather is such a gift!  55 degrees here for the next few days.  Love it~ and so does Landon because he finally gets to try out his new bike he got for Christmas.

20150116-083821-31101388.jpg2.)  Basketball Buddies.  This is seriously the cutest thing ever.  I’ve loved it when my kids were the “little” buddy and I love it even more now that they are the “big” buddy.  These notes!  So precious.  And I love how they spelled Natalie’s name.  After reading through those letters, I believe Nat needs to have them over for a little Frozen Karaoke night…

20150116-083841-31121181.jpg3.)  SEVEN.  Chapter one is done and in the books, so they say.  We met for the first time yesterday and I loved hanging out with friends, sipping coffee, and talking about the book.  I KNOW I love that more than the book.  🙂  BUT, this book is good, so far.  The first chapter is about food.   We have decided to read a chapter one week, discuss the next week,  put that chapter into practice (however that looks for each of us individually) and discuss the next week.  And so forth as we move through the book.  I am excited!!!  And for me, just so you can all hold me accountable, I am not eating ANYTHING after 7:00 pm for this next week.  So if you see me at basketball games and I’m sneaking a piece of popcorn at 7:09—please stop me.

20150116-083920-31160844.jpg4.)  SCONES.  Oh my, the scones.  All I can say is these are the easiest, yummiest, funnest recipe to make ever.  Read all about them and get the recipe:

HERE

5.)  Dog Tricks.  Please don’t make fun of me and my voice talking to our dog like she has just taken her first step as a toddler.  But dang it.  I am so proud of her…  ha ha!  🙂  Actually, Kourtney has been working very hard with Brinklee to get her to do roll over.  Basically, what it comes down to, this dog will do anything for some chicken.  I can’t wait until she starts doing the laundry…
